Christmas Tree Sales 2015

Dear Regiment families,
What exciting news that we received last night!  We are going to Fresno! I am so encouraged by everyone's enthusiasm to come together to keep this program so successful!  Let's keep the momemtum going and sell some Christmas trees! Students will receive 50% of the tree sales into their student accounts!  If you have an artificial tree, please consider donating a tree to a military family this year.  Or, how about ordering a gorgeous wreath or swag?  It doesn't cost anything to post our Christmas tree sale flyer to your social media.  You may surprise yourself and sell a few that you didn't think you could!

Important Calendar Changes

Dear Regiment families,
Thank you to everyone who helped make our mandatory band camp and Family Night a success!  Thank you to the barbequers, food preppers, food servers, money counters, ticket distributors, heavy lifters, chaperones and to everyone who took the time to volunteer.  We truly rely on our volunteers and are grateful for you.

OUR FIRST HOME FOOTBALL game is on THURSDAY, September 3rd!  (Games are usually on Fridays, but due to Labor Day, it will be on Thursday.) The call time is 3:45pm.  The students will need to bring a short sleeve tshirt (no tank tops, please) to wear under their uniforms, BLACK socks and their DRILL MASTER black shoes! Please arrive clean shaven with no makeup or nail polish.

We have 2 Saturday practices on  Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 for Band/Guard from 2-9pm (NOT 8am-5pm as stated on calendar.)  At the end of those practices, the Regiment will do a run through showcasing everything that we have learned for the parents.

Calling all Band Hair Moms:  We will be hosting a Band Hair 101 seminar next Thursday, September 3rd at 3:30pm by the Jazz Room.  If you have done hair in the past, or would like to start doing hair, please contact Jennie Tellez and Marisa Murillo here if you can attend the Band Hair Seminar.  We will be prepping the students' hair for the game following the seminar. 

L.A. County Fair-The Regiment will be marching in the LA County Fair on Wednesday, September 9th.

Upcoming Events How You Can Help UHRB

Hello all new and returning Volunteers!

 

I want to let you know about a few upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to help our band.

Ontario 4th Of July Parade:

As you know, the band is participating in the Ontario Independence Day Parade.  We will need at least 4 parent volunteers who are willing to walk with the band along the parade route while towing our ice chests on wagons.  These parents assist and supervise our pit students in selling bottled water to the spectators along the route.  This is a highly successful fundraising event, and we typically sell every last bottle.  In order to maximize our fundraising, we ask our entire band family for donations of cases of bottled water.  Next week during band camp, please consider donating at least one or two cases of water.  Send them with your student or drop them off inside the band room when you drop off or pick up your student.  And please understand, it is impossible to have enough bottled water.  We will sell tons at the parade, and if by any chance there are extra cases, we will be able to sell them at future events, such as...

 

July 18th, Saturday-The Golden Era of Doo-Wop:
The Upland High School Auditorium is hosting "The Golden Era of Doo-Wap."  Although the concert itself is not a Regiment function, the Regiment has been given the privilege of running the concession stand to contribute to our fundraising efforts.  From now until then we will be accepting donations of bottled water and soda cans, as well as small single serve prepackaged snacks such as chips, granola bars, and trail mix.  However, our highly popular and sought after items are always our homemade individually wrapped baked goods!.  The homemade goods can be dropped off the afternoon of the event.

 
August 10-21 Mandatory Band Camp:

Lastly, even though it still seems like a whole summer away, the two-week August band camp (Aug 10-21) will be here before we know it.  If you are interested in serving our hungry campers dinner 5-6pm, please contact me and let me know which days you are available.  Besides serving food, we have drink makers and servers, sometimes dessert servers, and also need extra parents to keep eyes on our kids' belongings on campus while they eat, as well as general supervision.  Band camp dinner time is one of the most fun interactions we have with the kids as well as with each other and is a great way to get an early involvement in the season.

 

So, please remember, start donating water!  Thanks for all your time and support!

Mattress Fundraiser April 26, 2015

Mark your calendars to make sure you do not miss this event!

 

 

 

Upland High School Regiment is presenting our annual fundraiser that will not only

help the Program, but will help you and your family get a great deal on 

a new mattress at the same time! 

 

 Help us spread the word about this unique fundraiser!  

This is a wonderful opportunity for Regiment to raise some

much needed funds for our programwithout having to 

sell or ask you, our families for donations or cash. 

 

We have a goal of $8,000 and what we have to do is advertise the event!!

The formula to make this happen is for everyone to find 5 people that 

are in the market for a mattress to come check out our fundraiser!

That's all you need to do...

 

It is very important to understand that our job is not to sell anyone a mattress,

only to get as many people to our event as possible and let the folks who we are 

partnering with do the rest! And with 40% to 60% off retail prices it should be 

easy to get family and friends to at least come out and take a look!

 Parents, please copy and send the below portion of this email along with 

the attached referral form to your family and friends to let them know about our

upcoming fundraising event. Its important to send the referral form and make

sure you explain that your son or daughters name should be written in 

so your student will get credit for any potential sales.

 

We have also attached a form that shows what

kind of incentives are available and explains how you may be able to win a 

40" Flat Screen TV, XBOX, Mini IPad, Beats By Dre Headphones or a $300 gift card!

 

We all know someone who may be in the market for a new Mattress, maybe even you and 

you didn't even know it, and what an amazing opportunity this is to save lots of money

and support our program at the same time with this fantastic fundraising program.

 

 The success of this event depends on referrals.
